Didn’t give me my deposit on an rv that they never followed through on a loan for.
I tried buying an RV and put $2000 down to hold it. An appointment was made for a week after that.
The appointment was made without any choices. I took the whole day off work and an hour before the appointment, I called to confirm and they didn't have the loan done yet. I wanted my refund and that was the last part of April. I have called several times but no one seems to ever have time to talk to me and get things done.
I finally got the operations manager and he said it was being processed and would be 3-5 days.
It has been 2 weeks. Where is my money?

Verified Reviewer |That treat you well until they add 2500 dollars at the end if the sale for dealer prep. I am sure it would of been more if they discounted the unit. Don't buy from them
Was going to sell me a camper dropped the price then add darn near 3500 extra cost for dealer prep. They won't return any calls.
Shame on this family owned company. And shame on the sales person.
Adds are so misleading. They should be investigated by every state.
Can't even get the manager to return calls.

Bad service
Had a camper since 2019 at Foxwood campsite then they sold it but in the meantime we had problems with our toilet overflowing we had water coming in on the floor that when the season was over we came back and it was iced up it was water and one of our tanks go out the gray tank and then we had to move to Timothy Lake all our campus did was sit there don't understand why we have all these problems I'll frigerator don't work we got leaks we have a soft spot in our kitchen on the floor and they do nothing about it I just want this all over it either give us something new what we owe or do something for us because they are not doing anything we call them they don't answer and they try to say these people are not there when we call them they are not good people to deal with they don't help this is the worst company I ever heard of but we're going to change that we're going to take matters in our own hands and take care of it because they ain't doing nothing for us they're horrible would not go to this place and we never took owe rv on vacation we didn't fell safe we payed 3.700 a year were we hade it and it was there the whole time how do we have all these problems and they don't help at all so I guess we got to take matters in owe own hand they have law suits against them
To warn others of my cousins experience.
My cousin bought a pull behind trailer RV from this company.
No one did a final inspection before allowing it to be taken from the lot. Which resulted in:
1. It left with a tank full of *** How does this happen? How long did it sit on your lot this way? Disgusting.
2. A wooden shelf was not secured and ended up destroying several things in the kitchen area.
3. It took 2 weeks to be picked up & towed from the customers house, and another 1.5 weeks to get a return phone call from this company, just to get an update.

They say camper shopping would be fun. I can ensure you it isnt, So we purchased from the Hershey RV Show last year.
From General RV the day this unit was picked up. There was water all over the inside. We were told it was because they did an intense pressure washing ,walk away. It was missing items that were supposed to be with it when purchased There was all kinds of cosmetic issues, which filled about a page, they talked us into taking the unit and bringing it back with a scheduled repair date (DONT TAKE THE UNIT until everything is satisfied) still to this day10 months later the items or have not been satisfied.
first rain storm. This unit spilled in all kinds of water. We return the unit to General RV for this issue and told them to make it right before we picked it up. We have returned to the dealership four times only little was done finally after 10 months we get our unit everything is supposedly completed this is not the case putting items into the camper.
A rain storm came. It is leaking in all the areas that I did originally they want us to return the unit for them to continue making repairs. We have lost countless vacations that were booked. dont bother calling corporate office that will get you nowhere.
Even though everyone we have spoken with have been extremely nice and act like they care you wont get satisfaction. I guarantee you. This is only a small amount of issues that we have had dont hesitate to call me.

Every time I contact you guys the agents are very short. Need to learn how to talk to some one.
Its a shame I had to go to Wisconsin to buy my first Rv and all I wanted was to go from a class a to a class c. Need people skills.
Being dealing with this for over ten years off and on with this company. So sad.

They kept 10,000 dollars of our money
They took a deposit for a motor home. We r in our late 70s.
After hours we put money down thinking it was refundable now they refuse to refund. One of the managers called yelling at me that we will never get our money back. We feel that this is not an honest reputable company.
Please listen to what we r saying because we don't want other people to go through this. We can not afford to lose this money

Made first RV purchase.
Sales floor was great. They answered a lot of questions. Financial department, well made it as comfortable as possible . VIP tour of your vehicle is very helpful.

Once you sign for a purchase? Beware if you have problems. Major vehicle issue drop offs are not a priority for the service department. They dont inspect what they sell, so my suggestion is to hire an inspector before you sign.

Bought 2003 33 foot Wildwood Platinum in June, in September I am bringing back for repair, rock panels on passenger side pulling away from body.
During further inspection they found that they didn't connect the battery on one side and lucky I had power and then further found out other cable wasn't clamped down to the ternminal connection and was sparking the whole time so I was lucky no fire. Besides that I had to clean sawdust out of all the floor ducts. Service rep said " that is normal".
After 2 weeks and a half and knowing I had a trip planned, here I sit waiting still. Don't buy into the "you are family BS"
I highly regret purchasing here.

Registration and no help
I bought a $ 170,000 Class A at Dover FL. and 3 months and counting and I can't drive it because they can't register it!
Many calls and no help!! Tons of excuses stay away from these losers

Cannot fix the ac low fan.
They told me it was too cold to test the AC in there building. So my warranty run out. We'll bring it back in summer see what happens.

Sold me a worthless warranty
I purchased a used travel trailer from their Huntley, IL location. The guy doing final paperwork sold me on buying their 3 year warranty.
According to him, it covered bumper to bumper with a $200 deductible, no matter how many issues.
He also said that if I find I don't need it, I can cancel at any time.
September of 2023 (within the first year), I had 5 issues. I made an appointment at the North Canton, OH location for repairs. I called the warranty company 2 days prior to my appointment to ensure my issues were covered. THEY SAID ALL 5 ISSUES WERE COVERED.
North Canton told me that there is an hourly service fee to inspect each issue before any warranty work is done.
I then had them look at only 2 issues.
Then they submitted my issues to the warranty company and told me that none were covered. I paid $575 for them to badly fix 2 items. One was a water leak that started again 3 days later.
I was still camping in the midwest and called the next closest location. They did not return my call.
I called corporate.
They did not return my calls. I had to pay an rv repairman to fix the issue.
I have been trying since September of 2023 to cancel my warranty and Grneral RV will not respond.
I've called, left messages, live chatted and nothing.
Lost out on almost $4,000.

Blind missing in the bed room
Refrigerator was wired with the heating system
The cable to the refrigerator was install to short and ripe apart during travel
The hot and cold water piping was backward in the shower Had to revere the lines
The San T Flush system was piped in backwards
The LP gauge sensor was not working
The black water sensor had to be replaced
Th Ed running lights on the red unit was disconnected under the dash
The trim piece around the radio had to be replaced as it was damage
The wall under the TV near the sitting area had to be replaced because the wall was damaged
Again General Rv just wanted your money and did not check unit before they sold it
Recommendation to all to make sure all the system are working before you give them a check

Yes have contacted them several times and contacted their man head quarters 3 times no luck they are the worst they refuse to make things right we are working with a lawer and contacted the attorney general
we are now talking with are lawer because we know they are going to screw us. In the middle of looking at a trailer they said they lost power we could not even see what we were signing but its funny all the lights were on all around us it was just like the 8 trailers and their. Sales tent that had no power it did come back On For a short period by then it was to late. We were told they could not give us copies of anything because they were going to loose power again I went to take out my phone to take pictures and was told I cant because of others personal information was only going to scan them my self.
Took a day and 8 phone calls and emails to get to read what they made us sign and most was blurry and un readable. One thing we did see that a brand new 2024 Trailer was being sold to us as-is Dont deal with them

Warning, General RV does not refund deposits
I was rushed into signing a contract and putting a deposit of $5,000.00 on my Credit Card. Because the RV was a 2018, I decided not to purchase it the next business day. I was told that my deposit was non-refundable, that I would have to apply it towards some other RV.

Agreed!!! Customer service after you have signed off on loan is horrific.
Service department doesn't know the first thing about fixing RV's. Constant lies and then tell you how the converstation went like you weren't even there. So disrespectful and dishonest. Never in my life have I been treated so horribly.
Will never recommend General RV in Fort Myers to anyone, not even my worst enemy.
Just wish I had looked at reviews before even going there. My bad!!!
