General RV, Huntley Il.

My adventure started on September 2, 2014. I had an appointment set up for 10:30 and I was at the shop by 10:00. I spent some time discussing the issues with the service writer, Jim Divita. At the end of our discussion, he stated that they may be able to get the RV in the shop tomorrow, why did I have to bring in a day BEFORE they were going to work on it? Our time is NOT important to them. We live in our RV full time, with three cats, so we had to find a place to stay for the time it was in the shop.

On September 3, they had the RV in the shop. I had to go back there and get some keys for an emergency at our rental house. I was brought into the service area by Jim and we ran into the service mechanic working on the RV, George, who I could tell has a real attitude towards, customers. You would not call him, CUSTOMER friendly.

Every time I called Jim to get updates on the repair, he would tell me that he would call me back. He NEVER called me at all. Also a sign of ineffective Customer Service.

I called Jim on September 4, to tell him that we needed the RV back by Thursday, September 4, by 1:00 pm. Of course he said that he would call me, but never did, as I stated before. Jim told me that since they had a deadline, they were not able to finish the service on the generator. Well if you started on time, that may not been an issue. I went to the service center at 1:00 to pick up the RV. The bill for service was $624. That is not the issue.

The real issue was when we got the RV back into the camp ground, and found issues that we had NOT seen before. There was a noise coming from the generator, which was just serviced by them. The clean water tank was empty, when I filled it BEFORE coming to General RV. No big issue, I just filled that tank again at the camp ground.

There was something that alarmed me because the water did not come out of the overflow tube, like so many times before.

So I called Jim back, only to be told that he was on the phone and he would call me back, you know by now, that never happened either. So I called him again and we spoke about those issues I just told you about, and of course, I was told he would call me back. He also told me to check the oil, on the same generator they just serviced, what the heck is that all about? The same story, never a call back form the Service writer, Jim Diviita.

So the bottom line: 0 out of 10 points, it what I rate General RV, Service Department.

The parts department has been very helpful and I would rate them 10 out 10!

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Preferred solution: Call me back and tell me why the fresh water tank was emptied and also why the generator is in alarm state, and how to fix that..
